november goals

I woke up this morning (sunday, november 1) so pleased that it was 8am and felt like 9am - daylight savings is such a treat. after a little bit of cleaning and cooking, I had the rest of the day to relax and pamper myself with face masks, good books and new music (today was børns and miguel). I spent a little bit of today setting goals and meal planning, so I thought I would just share some of my intentions for this month here!

read three books. lately, I feel like I get home from work and flip on netflix or shomi_ so mindlessly it's practically automatic. obviously binging on jane the virgin was really important, but I really want to read more often, so I think I'm going to make a no netflix before bed rule this month. I've been buying books like crazy, so I think it's time to get started on that! right now, I'm reading why not me? by mindy kaling. feel free to share some book recommendations!

meditate + stretch. this time of year can get very stressful at work, and in general I think this season is overly go-go-go. I want to meditate for 5 minutes every night before bed (I've recently discovered an app called calm - it has free guided meditations and nature sounds). I also really want to work at my flexibility and posture, so it's my goal to build in a half-hour at home yoga practice twice a week.

avoid eating out. in september, I didn't eat out for the entire month when I discovered that in 2014 I spent more on food than I did on rent using an app called mint. with preparation for christmas, I've been thinking it would be good to do another no eating out month! I'll have to make a couple of exceptions (birthdays and pre-planned dinner events), but I really want eating out to be more of a treat than a regular thing!

improve my instagram feed. I've been really crushing on a few really on-point instagram feeds lately, and it makes me really want my instagram to be a well-curated space as well. I'm participating in the #pluckytonothin november photo challenge, and hopefully this will challenge me to create better posts. if I need to be following you on instagram, please let me know!

do you like to set goals? what do you have planned this month?

PS - I might be starting to decorate for christmas already. don't judge me.
